In 1903, independently of the work published by his colleague Bernhard Kayser in 1902, Bruno Fleischer described the Kayser-Fleischer corneal ring, later named after the two of them, in Wilson's disease . The Fleischer Ring , an iron deposit in the outer epithelial cells , was also named after him . They are typically yellowish to dark brown and can be continuously interrupted.
