Bruno Versavel (born August 27, 1967 in Diest ) is a former Belgian football player . He played as an active player until 2013 and, at the end of his career at the age of 46, was still very dangerous. Since the end of his active career, or at the same time, Versavel has been working as a football coach in lower-class Belgian football.

Career

Versavel began playing football for FC Diest in his hometown, for whom he made his debut in the 1985/86 season in the first team that was then playing in the Belgian second division. In 1986 he moved to SK Lokeren . There the midfielder scored 18 goals in 65 games. In 1988 Versavel was signed by KV Mechelen , to which he remained loyal for four years. In Mechelen, Versavel won the Belgian Cup in 1987 and the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1988 . In 1989 the team became Belgian champions and won the European Supercup . 1990 Versavel made three internationals for the Belgian national team at the World Cup in Italy , he completed a total of 28 internationals and scored four goals. In January 1992 Versavel moved to the top club RSC Anderlecht , where he spent five and a half seasons.

1997 left Versavel Belgium and moved to AC Perugia in the Italian Serie B . However, the now 30-year-old was unable to meet expectations and was deported to FC Lugano in Switzerland before the end of the season . In the summer of 1998 Versavel returned to Belgium and played one season for FC Herentals in the second division. He spent the 1999/2000 season at KFC Verbroedering Geel . He then moved to KV Turnhout , where he ran up as a striker until 2007 and wore the number 10 on his back. This was followed by a move to his home club, the fifth division club KFC Diest , where he let his career end until 2011 and was still very dangerous. From 2012 to 2013 he joined the lower-class club VK Linden again and ended his career as an active player at the age of 46. After the end of his active career or at the same time, Versavel worked as a football coach in lower-class Belgian football. He is currently (as of January 2015) as head coach at KSV Oud-Turnhout in the penultimate Belgian soccer league. After completing all of his training for the UEFA B diploma in 2013, his new goal is to receive a UEFA A diploma in order to assert himself as a coach in professional football. In addition to his work as a football coach, the ex-international also runs a café on the Grote Markt in his hometown .
