Bruno Wolf (born October 16, 1878 in Mainz , † November 25, 1971 in Friedberg (Hesse) ) was a German municipal official and founder of what is now Oberhessische Versorgungsbetriebe AG .

Life

Wolf studied law in Strasbourg and Giessen , where he became a member of the Corps Teutonia in 1899 . After completing his studies, he joined the provincial administration of the province of Upper Hesse . In 1911 he founded the Inheiden waterworks with an electricity supply contract with Frankfurt am Main , and in 1912 the Oberhessen overland plant. From 1919 to 1934 he was Provincial Councilor of the Province of Upper Hesse and decisively determined the interests of the province. In addition to being the founder of the two utilities, he made a contribution to the expansion of the transport infrastructure. As an unpopular civil servant, he was dismissed from civil service in 1934 under the law for the restoration of the civil service.

In the course of the dissolution of the province of Upper Hesse on July 1, 1937, the two plants were merged with the participation of the five Upper Hessian districts of Alsfeld, Büdingen, Friedberg, Gießen and Lauterbach to form the Upper Hessian Utilities Association. After Germany surrendered in May 1945, Wolf was appointed head of the Zweckverband. He retired on October 31, 1950.
