Bruno von Türckheim

Bruno von Türckheim, called von Baden (born October 6, 1826 in Freiburg im Breisgau ; † June 22, 1874 ibid) was a member of the First Chamber of the Baden Council of Estates from 1866 to 1868 .

Origin and family

Türckheim comes from the older Ortau-Breisgau main line of the Alsatian-Baden family of the Barons von Türckheim . He was the younger son of the Austrian major Christian Friedrich Jakob von Türckheim zu Altdorf (1782–1846) and his wife Marie Anne Elisabeth, born Freiin von Baden (1788–1866), the daughter of Franz Anton von Baden .

In 1861 he married Emma von La Roche-Starkenfels (1836–1876) with whom he had six children:

Anton Karl von Baden was his uncle. When he died childless in 1830, von Türckheim, who was only three years old, inherited him. The former monastery Charterhouse Freiburg , which he later chose as his residence, also belonged to the legacy .

On December 31, 1833, Grand Duke Leopold von Baden also granted Türckheim permission to associate names and coats of arms . From then on his descendants called themselves Barons von Türckheim , called von Baden.

In the list of landlords of the Grand Duchy of Baden who are able to vote and can be elected, Bruno von Türckheim appears as a retired kk Austrian officer. D. led. Details about this military career are not known. On May 28, 1866 von Türckheim was elected by the landlord nobility in the electoral district above the Murg into the first chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly. At the 18th meeting on June 1, 1866, he accepted the election and was sworn in. The beginning of his parliamentary activity was marked by the German war . Türckheim took part in the sessions of the Chamber until February 5, 1868 without particularly prominent. In December 1868 he was appointed to the newly created regional culture council for four years, a body to advise the Baden Ministry of Commerce on questions of agricultural technology. In 1869 Türckheim received the Knight's Cross 1st Class of the Order of the Zähringer Lion .
