Franz Anton of Baden

Franz Anton Bonifatius Freiherr von Baden (* 1737 in Freiburg im Breisgau ; † December 10, 1818 there ) was the last president of the Breisgau estates .

Life

Franz Anton came from the old line of the Barons of Baden and was born as the son of Franz Benedikt von Baden and Maria Jakobea von Reinach . He was the landlord of Liel , Au , Sölden and co- lord of Amoltern . From 1733–1791 he was president of the "Front Austrian Free Knighthood of Counts, Free Lords, Knights and Aristocrats" and from 1792–1806 President of the Breisgau regional representation, the so-called Consess.

Honors

Franz Anton was a knight of the Franz Joseph Order and carried the Grand Cross of the Baden House Order of Loyalty

Marriage and offspring

Franz Anton married Maria Anna Sophia Antonia Walburgis Freiin von Sickingen zu Hohenburg (1746–1800). The following children were born from this marriage:

  • Anton Karl (1770-1830)
  • Ignaz († 1812); real secret council of the Grand Duchy of Baden
  • Maria Elisa (1788–1866) ∞ Christian Friedrich Freiherr von Tuerckheim zu Altdorff
