Career

Sanders made his international debut on December 3, 1989 as part of the Ski Jumping World Cup . He clearly missed the points in Thunder Bay as 57th. After further unsuccessful jumping in Lake Placid , he started at the Four Hills Tournament in 1989/90 . However, he did not make it into the front field again and ended up in the end quite beaten only in 70th place in the tour's overall ranking. At the 1990 World Ski Flying Championships in Vikersund , Sanders finished 55th in the singles.

After further unsuccessful starts in the World Cup, including a 76th place overall in the Four Hills Tournament 1991/92 , he started in the US team at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville . He managed to jump from the normal hill to 38th place. On the large hill, he finished 36th on points with his compatriot Robert Holme . Together with Holme, Jim Holland and Ted Langlois he reached 12th place in the team competition.

In 1994 he was inducted into the St. Paul Ski Club Hall of Fame.
