Bryanna McCarthy (born October 13, 1991 in Toronto ) is a former Canadian soccer player . Her mother is from St. Vincent and her father from Jamaica .
Career
McCarthy played while studying at West Virginia University for their soccer team, the West Virginia Mountaineers , and sporadically for the W-League participant Toronto Lady Lynx . It was allocated to the Western New York Flash team in January 2013 at the so-called NWSL Player Allocation . For this McCarthy made his debut on May 11, 2013 in the game against FC Kansas City as a substitute, which was her only use in the 2013 season. For the 2014 season she moved to the Ottawa Fury Women in the W-League and in January 2015 to the German Bundesliga club SC Sand . On March 18, 2015, she made her debut in a 2-0 defeat against German champions VfL Wolfsburg . After McCarthy only came to a single assignment for SC Sand, she moved to BV Cloppenburg . In April 2017, McCarthy terminated her contract in Cloppenburg after BV Cloppenburg was unable to pay her salary and returned to Canada. In the summer of 2017, she announced the end of her career.
International
McCarthy played for the Canadian U-17 and U-20 national teams and took part in the 2008 U-17 World Cup. On June 3, 2010, she made her debut in the Canadian senior team and won the Cyprus Cup with this in the following year .
As a trainer
With the end of her playing career, she was assistant coach of the West Virginia Mountaineers .
