The Bubba Gump Shrimp Company is a restaurant chain that by the film Forrest Gump from the year 1994 was inspired.
history
The first restaurant under the name Bubba Gump Shrimp Company opened in 1996 in Monterey , California . The fictional company Bubba Gump Shrimp Company , which Forrest Gump founded in the film of the same name on the basis of a promise made to his comrade Bubba who died in the Vietnam War, served as a template . The menu consists mainly of fish and seafood . Due to the success of the restaurant, additional branches were opened and the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company expanded into an international franchise model. In 2010, the US company Landry's, Inc. took over the restaurant chain Bubba Gump Shrimp Company .
