The Lake Buhi in the province of Camarines Sur , 40 km southeast of Naga City in the region of Bicol on the Philippines . The lake is located in an easterly direction directly on the Iriga volcano , on its shore the community of the same name Buhi .
The lake covers an area of 17.07 km² and is framed by hills up to 548 meters high. The lake belongs to the water catchment area of the Bicol River . The endemic fish species Mystichthys luzonensis , which is regionally known under the names Tabios and Sinarapan , lives in this lake . Other fish species are the snakehead fish Channa striata , predatory catfish ( Clarias sp. ), The cichlid species Oreochromis mossambicus , the gourdfish ( Trichogaster pectoralis ) and the carp ( Cyprinus carpio ). The climbing fish Anabas testudineus is also at home in the lake area, as is shrimp.
