The 1996/97 season was the 45th season of the Bulgarian Ice Hockey League , the highest Bulgarian ice hockey division . Champion was for the tenth time in the club history of HK Slavia Sofia .

Awards

The best goalkeeper of the season was Konstantin Mikhailov by Levski Sofia. The best defender was Kiril Petrov and the best striker Zlatko Zinowiew , both also from Levski. Jowko Terziew from Levski Sofia was the top scorer in the league. And the third place in the table was finally awarded the Fair Play Cup.
