Seglohe is a part of the community of Fremdingen in the Bavarian - Swabian district of Donau-Ries .

location

The village is located on the north-western edge of the Ries , about 3.3 km northeast of Fremdingen on the open ground. 500 m to the east is a bathing pond, which is fed by a few nameless streams. It drains into the Untere Seeger See, which in turn flows into the Mühlbach towards Hausen .

Local roads lead, among other things, to the DON 4 district road .

history

The place name comes from the Middle High German Sege for lowering. The place appears for the first time in 1053 as "Villa Segelowa". In the 13th century, the local nobility of Seglohe ruled the village. In 1293 they moved to Ederheim . In the period that followed, up to eight landlords tried to assert themselves, but none succeeded. As a result, Seglohe developed into a free village with great autonomy.

1806 Seglohe was with the municipality edict in the Kingdom of Bavaria , a Rural community with the districts Eiterberg and Hochstadt .

As part of the municipal reform , the municipality was incorporated into the Fremdingen municipality on May 1, 1978. Before that, the land consolidation had been carried out. From their community of participants, the nature conservation association developed in 1978, which has set itself the goal of preserving the homeland. Every two years he organizes the three-day Weiherfest.

Buildings

In addition to the inn, the Catholic branch church St. Pantaleon is also on the list of monuments .
