history

The location was probably settled early on. There is a Celtic cult site in the Gehren forest east of Hausen . Traces of a Roman road can also be found nearby.

The place was probably founded between the 7th and 10th centuries. In 1053 it appears for the first time in a document from Emperor Heinrich III. as "villa Husen". The Counts of Oettingen encouraged the settlement of craftsmen and day laborers who found additional income in forest work. The school house was built in 1890. School operations were given up in 1970. Today the building is used as a rifle shelter.

The municipality of Hausen, which was independent until the municipality reform, was incorporated into the municipality of Fremdingen on May 1, 1978.

Buildings

In addition to a few other objects, the Catholic parish church of St. Rufus is also on the list of monuments .
