Nonnenbergmühle , also called Jonasmühle , is a district of the municipality of Fremdingen in the Bavarian - Swabian district of Donau-Ries .

location

The wasteland, which consists only of the mill property, is just under 4.5 km southeast of Fremdingen, on the open ground at the Mehlbachgraben, a source brook of the Wörnitz . A connecting path leads to Herblingen, 1 km away .

history

Shortly after the Thirty Years' War, the Barons von Welden built the Nonnenbergmühle to break the brewing malt for the brewery in Hochaltingen . They created a reservoir and the Glöckles and Enderlachweiher. In 1764 they sold the property to the princes of Oettingen-Spielberg .

With the community edict in 1818 Nonnenbergmühle became part of the newly created rural community of Herblingen. This was dissolved in 1978 as part of the municipal reform and both places were incorporated into the Fremdingen municipality.
