Konstantin Michailow ( Bulgarian Константин Михайлов ; born May 22, 1964 ) is a Bulgarian ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with SK Irbis-Skate in the Bulgarian ice hockey league since 2015 .

Career

Konstantin Michailow began his career as an ice hockey player with HK Levski Sofia , with whom he won the Bulgarian national championship five times and the cup competition seven times . In 2002 he moved to the İstanbul Paten SK in the Turkish Super League , but returned to Levski after only one year. In 2004 he dared to go abroad again and played in Division 1 , the second French division, for the Moselle Amnéville Hockey Club . But even in Lorraine it only lasted a year and so he has been back in Sofia since 2005. After two years at Akademik Sofia , both of which ended with a double of the championship title and cup win, he moved to HK Slawia Sofia , with whom he was five times champion and four times cup winner until 2012. From 2012 to 2014 Mikhailov was in the can with HK CSKA Sofia , with whom he also won the championship and cup double in 2013 and 2014. Since 2015 he has been playing for SK Irbis-Skate from Sofia, with which he was Bulgarian champion in 2016 and 2017. He was named the best goalkeeper in the Bulgarian ice hockey league ten times (1990, 1992, 1997, 2000, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013).

International

For Bulgaria , Mikhailov took part in the U18 B European Championships in 1981 and 1982 , when he was voted the best goalkeeper of the tournament, and the Junior C World Cup in 1983 , when he was also named best goalkeeper.

In the adult field, Mikhailov first played for Bulgaria at the C World Championships in 1989 , 1990 , when he was voted the best goalkeeper of the tournament, 1991 , 1994 , 1995 and 2000 as well as the B World Championships in 1992 and 1993 and the D World Championship in 1997 . After the conversion to the current division system, he was at the World Championships of Division II 2001 , 2002 , 2003 , 2004 , 2005 , 2006 , when he was also voted best goalkeeper with the best catch quota of the tournament, 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , 2011 , 2012 and 2013 as well as Division III 2014 , when he had the best catch quota of the tournament, in the box of the Bulgarians. In 1993, 2010 and 2011 he was voted the best player on the Bulgarian team. He also represented his colors at the qualifying tournaments for the Olympic Winter Games in Turin in 2006 , in Vancouver in 2010 and in Pyeongchang in 2018 .
