Bullhead City is a city in Mohave County in the US state of Arizona , with 37,100 inhabitants (as of 2004 ). It is located about 100 miles (160 km) south of Las Vegas on the Colorado River . The urban area has a size of 119 km². Arizona State Route 95 runs through Bullhead City and ends north of the city on Arizona State Route 68 .
Bullhead City is connected by a bridge over the Colorado River to Laughlin, Nevada , the city with the third most casinos in Nevada , after Las Vegas and Reno . Many Bullhead City residents work in Laughlin or live indirectly from legal gambling there.
