history

The constituency had constituency number 20. It was newly formed from parts of the constituencies Aurich - Emden and Leer before the federal election in 1965 . In the course of the reorganization of the constituencies before the federal election in 1980, it was finally dissolved. The area of ​​the city of Emden and the northern district, which was incorporated into the Aurich district in 1977 , went to the newly created Aurich - Emden constituency and the Leer district to the new Unterems constituency .
