Carl Ewen

Carl Ewen (born February 23, 1931 in Leer / Ostfriesland ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

From 1980 to 1987 he was parliamentary manager of the SPD parliamentary group.

Life and work

After graduating from high school , Ewen studied at the University of Education in Göttingen and then worked as a teacher in Werdenum from 1953 to 1959 . In 1959 he took over the management of the school in Visquard and was finally rector of the elementary school in Jennelt from 1966 to 1972 .

Carl Ewen is married and has four children.

Political party

Ewen joined the SPD in 1959 and was chairman of the SPD sub-district north from 1965 to 1979 and of the sub-district Aurich from 1979 to 1987. From 1970 to 1987 he was also a member of the board of directors of the SPD district of Weser-Ems.

MP

From 1961 to 1977 Ewen belonged to the district council of the north district and after its incorporation into the district of Aurich until 1987 to the district council of the district of Aurich.

From 1972 to 1994 he was a member of the German Bundestag and from 1980 to 1987 Parliamentary Managing Director of the SPD parliamentary group . Most recently he was chairman of the group's working group on tourism from 1991 to 1994 .

Carl Ewen entered the Bundestag in 1972 and 1976 as a directly elected member of the Emden - Leer constituency and then always as a directly elected member of the Aurich - Emden constituency .

Public offices

Ewen was Mayor of Visquard from 1961 to 1972 . From 1964 to 1972 he was District Administrator of the North District and from 1988 to 2002 President of the East Frisian Landscape .
