The Federal Association of Building Materials - Stones and Earths e. V. (BBS) represents the economic and industrial policy interests of its members in the areas of concrete components, iron and steel slag, refractory products, tiles, gypsum , lime, ceramic raw materials and industrial minerals , gravel and sand , masonry products ( sand-lime brick , lightweight concrete , brick , aerated concrete ). , Mineral wool , mortar , natural stone , natural stone , (building material) recycling, ready-mixed concrete, cement and (roof) tiles.

The association was founded in 1948 as a working group for stones and earth and is now based in Berlin .

The political and technical positions of the association are developed in seven committees by experts from companies and member associations. The focal points of the association's work include a. infrastructure and housing policy and energy efficiency in the building sector. In relation to the production of building materials, v. a. Raw material, energy and environmental issues are of particular importance.

Memberships

The BBS is a member of the Federation of German Industries (BDI), the Association of European Building Material Manufacturers (Construction Products Europe) and the Energy-Intensive Industries Association in Germany .

Closely connected to the BBS is the Social Policy Working Group on Stones and Erden (SPA), which primarily serves the nationwide coordination of collective bargaining positions on the employer's side and acts as the list holder of the industry in the trade association “Raw materials and chemical industry”. The SPA is a member of the Federal Association of German Employers' Associations (BDA).
