The Federal Association of Energy Efficient Building Envelopes e. V. (BuVEG) is a trade association which, with twelve member companies and associations, represents all trades involved in the building envelope . This includes manufacturers of stones, windows, doors, facades, plaster systems and insulation materials. He positions himself as the central contact person on the subject of building envelopes and represents the interests of the entire industry.

profile

The different trades involved in the building envelope have come together for the first time in the BuVEG. The association advertises u. a. for the energy saving potential of buildings and for the positive effect of the building envelope for urban planning. The core tasks of the association are political lobbying, the creation of industry figures, communication of complex physical and technical issues related to the building envelope, and the commissioning of scientific studies. The core topic is the importance of the building sector for climate protection goals and the role of the building envelope within the building sector.

The association also deals with the topics of dynamic building envelopes, material and technology openness , sustainable finance and CO 2 pricing. The dynamic building envelope, for example, is a system of components that can interact with one another to respond to changing requirements. It plays a decisive role in increasing energy efficiency in the building sector and thus in the climate protection goals in Germany.

The association also regularly drafts statements on draft laws that relate to the building sector and building envelope. The BuVEG keeps an eye on political projects that are being drawn up both in Germany and at EU level.

history

The BuVEG was founded in 2016 and is based in Berlin. Michael Wörtler was the CEO from 2016 to 2018. He retired at the end of 2018, and Volker Christmann was elected as the new chairman at the general meeting in December 2018. The BuVEG is headed full-time by the managing director Jan Peter Hinrichs.

Studies

Several studies were written on behalf of the BuVEG. Here is a short selection:

  • CO 2 savings and energy efficiency in residential buildings from the perspective of the planned federal funding for efficient buildings (created by the Research Institute for Thermal Protection FIW Munich and the Institute for Technical Building Equipment ITG Dresden)
  • Economic importance of the building envelope in residential construction (created by: Research Institute for Thermal Protection FIW Munich)
  • Cities under stress (created by: Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics IBP ): Contribution of house facades to reduce heat development in the city and improve air quality
