Bunge flowering ash ( Fraxinus bungeana ) is a shrub from the genus of the ash . Its natural range is north China.
description
Bunges flower ash is a shrub that can reach a height of 3 to 5 meters. The twigs are thin and finely hairy, the terminal buds are small and brown to blackish brown. The leaves are 2 to 15 centimeters long, composed and consist of three to seven, mostly five leaflets on stems 0.2 to 1.5 centimeters long. The leaflets are glabrous, 2 to 5 centimeters long and 1.5 to 3 centimeters wide, ovate to almost circular, briefly pointed with a broad wedge-shaped base. They have four to six pairs of leaf veins. The leaf stalk becomes 1.5 to 4.5 inches long and is finely haired. The flowers are dioecious . They are white, stalked about 3 millimeters long and stand in dainty, terminal panicles . Petals are present. Flowering time is from June to July. The fruit is 1.5 to 2 centimeters long, winged nut fruits with an elliptical cross-section , the wing edge of which runs down to the middle.
Distribution and ecology
The distribution area of Bunges Flower Ash is in the north of China. There it thrives as steppe wood and in dry forests on moderately dry to fresh, weakly acidic to alkaline, sandy-loamy to loamy, nutrient-rich soils in sunny and hot locations. It is sensitive to frost . You can find them at altitudes of up to 1500 meters.
