Bungo Stray Dogs ( Japanese 文豪 ス ト レ イ ド ッ グ ス , Bungō Sutorei Doggusu ) is a manga series by Kafka Asagiri and Sango Harukawa . It has been released in Japan since 2012 and has been adapted as a light novel and anime television series. The work can be classified into the genres of action, mystery and crime.

content

The series revolves around the "armed detectives", whose employees all have psychic abilities. They solve - often on behalf of the police - particularly difficult cases or those in which other people with supernatural abilities are involved. Your opponent is the port mafia, the action takes place in the city of Yokohama . Many of the characters are named after well-known, mainly Japanese, authors and their skills are borrowed from their literary work.

The youth Atsushi Nakajima ( 中 島 敦 ), who was thrown from the orphanage, is picked up by the detective Osamu Dazai ( 太宰 治 ). He discovered that behind Atsushi is the white tiger, which regularly attacks passers-by at night. The detectives reveal his previously hidden ability to Atsushi and take him in. In this way, they also protect Atsushi from the port mafia that is after him, as a bounty of 1 billion yen was placed on the "human tiger" on the black market. Now the boy should make himself useful to the detectives and accompany them in their cases. He is always amazed by their abilities. Dazai, who picked him up, has a constant tendency to attempt suicide, is a womanizer and gets on his colleagues' nerves, but is always helpful, clever and a good fighter at the crucial moment. Above all, his ability to "switch off" the supernatural powers of others is of use to the detective in combat. His partner Doppo Kunikida ( 国 木田 独 歩 ) is more annoyed than anyone else by Dazai and always tries to do his job meticulously - as in the rest of his life. With his notebook he can create objects that he writes down in it.

The only one in the detective agency without supernatural abilities is Ranpo Edogawa ( 江 戸 川 乱 歩 ), even if he believes his detective talent for combination is supernatural. It is precisely this that makes him indispensable for the detective agency and makes him incredibly self-confident. Beyond solving criminal cases, however, Edogawa is ignorant in everyday life and can hardly do anything without outside help.
