Bunkichi Sawada

Bunkichi Sawada ( Japanese 沢 田 文 吉 , Sawada Bunkichi; * July 18, 1920 in Gifu ; † May 12, 2006 ibid.) Was a Japanese pole vaulter and decathlete .
At the Asian Games in New Delhi in 1951 , he won gold in the pole vault and silver in the decathlon.
In the pole vault he was sixth at the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 and defended his title at the Asian Games in Manila in 1954 .
He set his personal best in the pole vault of 4.30 m on August 13, 1942 in Dalian .
