The Bunnefjord is a 20 km long fjord in southern Norway , the innermost and easternmost part of the Oslofjord . It extends from Oslo to the south and is separated from the main arm of the Oslofjord by the Nesodden peninsula in the west.
The fjord is bordered by the municipalities of Oslo in the northeast, Nordre Follo in the east, Ås in the southeast, Frogn in the southwest and Nesodden in the west. The last four are part of the Fylke (province) Viken .
In the north the fjord is quite wide and deep, in the south it is narrower and shallow. It has the greatest depth with about 160 m in front of Ingierstrand.
In the northern part of the Bunnefjord are several islands , of which Ormøya , Malmøya and Ulvøya are inhabited. On the eastern bank, about 15 km south of the city center of Oslo, is the popular Ingierstrand Bad lido ; however, the water in the Bunnefjord has a very long retention time , which has a negative effect on the water quality.
