The Burg Firmenich is a late medieval castle in Firmenich , a district of Mechernich in North Rhine-Westphalia Euskirchen . The one-part complex is an almost square courtyard with a two-story half - timbered building of the late Gothic castle house type .
The area of today's facility was mentioned as "Akkerburg" as early as the 15th century. The castle was built in the 16th century and abandoned in 1626. The owner was Krümmel von Nettersheim.
