history
According to archaeological findings, the castle was built at the end of the 13th century. It is believed that its name derives from the burgraves Milotas von Dědice, Albert and Dietrich Stange. The castle was first mentioned in writing in 1381 under the name New Castle ( nový hrad ) when Peter Holický von Sternberg inherited his uncle Albrecht . The castle belonged to the Dědice manor, the manorial seat located six kilometers to the southeast was called the Old Castle ( starý hrad ). In 1397 Peter Holický von Sternberg died without any descendants. His Moravian property fell to Peter von Kravarn . The town of Hrádek was located below the castle.
The castle became extinct either during the Hussite Wars or during the Moravian Fraternal War. In 1525 it was considered desolate. In 1535 the town of Hrádek was also described as desolate.
The two-part system consisted of the main castle surrounded by mantle walls and the town of Hrádek as the outer castle. Only remnants of the trenches remained visible. In 1924, parts of the foundation walls were exposed.
