The castle Wollbrigg was near the later good Wicheln at Müschede (now city Arnsberg ) and came probably from the 10th century. The Burgstall is located on a mountain nose about 500 meters from the estate.

The hilltop castle consisted of a ring wall made of earth with wall components about 80 meters in diameter. There was a ditch in the southwest of the facility . The main gate was in the east, another entrance was in the south. Another wall was located at the edge of the terrain 50 to 80 meters to the northeast of the castle .

The facility was part of a larger manor whose headquarters were moved to the stone castle Hachen around the year 1000 . Apparently until the 14th century the castle served the owners of the Wicheln estate to protect them in times of war. Its remains were completely destroyed by the expansion of a quarry in the 20th century.
