Ignaz Hofer
Ignaz Hofer (born June 15, 1790 in Schwanberg , † August 2, 1862 in Graz ) was an Austrian painter and graphic artist .
Life
Ignaz Hofer, born in Schwanberg in 1790, studied law and then worked for two years in the civil service. From 1816 to 1817 he was the provisional director of the landscape drawing academy in Graz. In 1820 Hofer worked as a drawing teacher in Trieste , and later with Prince Félix Baciocchi . In 1823 Hofer was made an honorary member of the Academy of Bologna . In 1828 he founded the first lithographic institute in Graz. He was considered a " lovable " flower and animal painter. Ignaz Hofer was also called the " painter of the bourgeoisie ".
