The castle Zussdorf is one of two dialed castles in the local area of Zussdorf, in the municipality of Wilhelmsdorf in the district of Ravensburg ( Baden-Wuerttemberg ). Next to the castle Zussdorf lay on the western edge the castle Gebel mountain , which is known, however, very little.
The tower castle was mentioned for the first time with Heinrich von Zußdorf, a ministerial of the Counts of Heiligenberg , of whose line other lords are mentioned in the middle of the 13th to the middle of the 14th century.
After the castle ("Castrum Zusdorf") was owned by Heinrich von Niuvrun (probably Neufra near Riedlingen ) in 1298 , it came to the city of Ravensburg after several changes of ownership and was destroyed after further changes of ownership in 1646 during the Thirty Years' War . The castle tower was demolished in 1823.
