The Rudolfspitz Castle Stable , also known as Hausruck Castle or sometimes Alt-Starhemberg Castle , is an abandoned hilltop castle at 590  m above sea level. A. in the Eidenedt district of the Haag am Hausruck community in the Grieskirchen district of Upper Austria (near the Piesinger farm, Eidenedt No. 6).

history

In 1120 a Hadmar de Husrukke and 1170 a Herrant de Husrukke, ministeriali regni, are mentioned. The castle, located on the border with Bavaria and the Innviertel, was probably destroyed as early as 1171. The name of Burg Hausruck was subsequently replaced by the name Rudolfspitz. Peter the Follower was enfeoffed with Hausruck Castle by Duke Albrecht V of Austria in 1411 . In 1490 Wolfgang Jörger , who was related to the followers , received the Purkstall at Rudolfspicz as a fief . 1611 Rudolph Spiz is still called an old oed Slos next to Hag .

Burgstall Rudolfspitz today

To the west of the Piesinger estate in Eidenedt (field name Scheiblingberi or Scheiblingberg ) there are remains of a formerly extensive weir system.

Two earth cones rising about 15 meters and separated by a path with trenches in front can still be identified. The hills are covered with trees, on the larger one a forest protection is planted. In 1865, individual bones and pottery shards were found during an excavation. The finds were subsequently interpreted as evidence of Baier graves. In reality, all published sherds date from the 16th and 17th centuries. Century, so not from grave mounds or other burials.
