Burgundy Grosse (born September 25, 1943 in Drahnow -Keil, Deutsch Krone district , today Drzonowo Wałeckie , Powiat Wałecki , Poland) is a German SPD politician . She was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives from 2001 to 2011 and from 2013 to 2016 .

Life

After finishing school in Schöneberg and training as a clerk in the Lette-Verein , Grosse started working as a commercial clerk at the Berliner Bank in 1962. After an interlude as a taxi driver and an eight-year family break, she worked in a managerial commercial position at the worsted yarn spinning mill Stöhr GmbH & Co from 1980. From 1980 until the closure of the Berlin plant in 1992 she was works council , from 1987 works council chairwoman. From 1992 to 1997 Grosse was district chairwoman of the DGB district Berlin-Nord. From 1997 until shortly before her retirement, she was organizational secretary at the DGB district Berlin-Brandenburg.

Grosse has been a member of the SPD since 1993. From 1995 to 2001 she was a district councilor in the Spandau district , from 1999 as deputy parliamentary group leader.

Grosse was directly elected to the Berlin House of Representatives in the constituency Spandau 4 in 2001 and 2006 . In 2011 she lost the constituency to the constituency candidate of the CDU Heiko Melzer , who had already run against her five years earlier. As a member of the House of Representatives, Grosse was spokeswoman for labor market policy for the SPD parliamentary group and, since 2006, has also been a member of the Presidium. She belonged to the left wing ( parliamentary left ) of the SPD parliamentary group. On September 6, 2013, she moved up on the SPD's Spandau district list for the late Thomas Kleineidam and thus moved back into the House of Representatives. In 2016 she left parliament.
