Burhan
Burhan ( Arabic برهان, DMG Burhān ) is an Arabic male given name , which occurs among other things in Turkish and as a family name . It is also an epithet of the Islamic prophet Mohammed and one of his many names. Burhan is translated as proof (of God), the term is part of Islamic philosophy .
Burhan in Islam
Burhan means “evident evidence ” and “irrefutable proof”, a connotation of the word in the Koran is “shining bright light”. A counter-term is Taqlid , "traditional reception" by following an authority. In Islamic popular belief, Burhan is sometimes falsely identified as evidence with Kārāmat , the miracle of a saint .
