Burkhard Metzger

Burkhard Metzger (born January 4, 1961 ) is a German police officer and police chief of Ludwigsburg .

Professional background

Burkhard Metzger joined the police force in 1981. In 1989 he was promoted to the higher service , in 1998 to the higher service at the State Criminal Police Office Baden-Württemberg , Central Office for Police Crime Prevention. From 2001 he headed the Marbach police station, which was then part of the Ludwigsburg Police Department, and in 2003 he moved to the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg as a consultant . In 2008 he became head of the Pforzheim Police Department at the time . In 2014, he took on the role of head of the command and control team and deputy head of the police station operations department as well as acting head of administration. In 2016 he moved to the Ludwigsburg Police Headquarters as head of the command and task force and deputy head of the department

On June 1, 2019, he succeeded Frank Rebholz as Police President of Ludwigsburg.
