history

The foundation of the settlement Burkhardtsdorf goes back to the mason Heinrich Burkhardt (1859-1947). He founded his construction company in 1883 and built numerous residential and industrial buildings in Apolda. As part of the first Thuringian municipal reform immediately after the state was founded in 1920, Burkhardtsdorf was incorporated into the city of Apolda as part of the municipality of Oberroßla on October 1, 1922.
