Buvik is a former municipality (municipality) and place in the Central Norwegian administrative district ( Fylke ) Sør-Trøndelag in Norway . It was originally part of Byneset until 1855 and part of Skaun since 1965 . The administrative center was in Buvika . The former municipality of Buvik comprised the mainly northeastern part of today's Skaun. Buvik comprised the area and the surrounding area on the Vigda River , south of the Gaulosen Fjord.
history
The commune was established in 1855 from part of the old commune of Byneset through a split and Buvik originally had a population of 841 at the time. On January 1, 1964, a small part of the municipality Buvik, together with Langørgen, a region with only 11 inhabitants, was annexed to the municipality of Melhus together with the neighboring municipality . On 1 January 1965, the rest of the municipality Buvik with 1,267 inhabitants with the places was Børsa and Skaun merged in order to form the new larger municipality Skaun.
