Byern is the name of an ancient Magdeburg noble family that traces its name back to its headquarters in Biere , which is now part of the municipality of Bördeland in the Salzlandkreis / Saxony-Anhalt .

The family first appears in a document with Heinrich von Bieren (Henricus de Bieren) in 1214. The trunk series begins with Albrecht von Bieren († 1272) on Carow and Tucheim .

From 1472 Gut Parchen has been in the family for over 400 years. A family crypt of the von Byern family is located in the Parchen village church .

Another family crypt is located in Borna in the Liebschützberg municipality in Saxony.

The family coat of arms showed an upright (or jumping?) Bracke. On the helmet a wreath decorated with six cock feathers. Colors not known for sure.

The later, increased coat of arms is quartered and shows in fields one and four in red a seated, retrospective silver bracke with a gold collar, in fields two and three in gold a green wreath with six black cock feathers. On the helmet with red and gold blankets on the right and red and silver blankets on the left, the bracke.
