Bytnica ( German Beutnitz (Mark) ) is a village in the powiat Krośnieński of the Lubusz Voivodeship in Poland . It is the seat of the rural community of the same name with 2512 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2019).

history

After the end of the Second World War , the place was taken over by the Potsdam Agreement in Polish administration and the German population expelled. Since then the place has been called Bytnica.

local community

The rural community (gmina wiejska) Bytnica includes the village itself and six other villages with school administration offices.

Parish church

The parish church of the village was built between 1745 and 1750 as an evangelical baroque church. Later a classical tower was built in the middle of the roof. In 1948 the church was consecrated as the Catholic parish church of St. Peter and Paul. Patronage: Peter and Paul on June 29th.
