Byxelkrok is a village ( småort ) on the Swedish island of Öland in the Baltic Sea . The place located in the north of the island belongs to the municipality of Borgholm and is located directly on Kalmarsund , on the northwest coast of the island.
Byxelkrok is the regional center on the northern tip of Öland. Road 136 runs through the village. Ferry connections to Oskarshamn on the Swedish mainland and the island of Blå Jungfrun exist from the local harbor . To the east of Byxelkrok is the village of Torp .
In addition to the fishing industry, Byxelkrok is a local center of tourism in the summer season with several restaurants and retail outlets .
The Byxelkrok Church is in the village . To the north of the village is the cemetery of Byxelkrok , the upright limestone Höga flisa and the nature reserve Neptuni åkrar . The areas east of the village are part of the Böda Ecopark .
