Cédric Burdet (born November 15, 1974 in Belley / France ) is a former French handball player . He is a knight of the French Legion of Honor .

Cédric Burdet received his first professional contract with Chambéry Savoie HB . With the men from Savoy , the right back player rose in 1994 to the French 1st division . After a year in the top division, Burdet was signed by the then French champions Montpellier HB . There he won the French championship in 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2003, the French Cup in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 and, as the highlight in 2003, the EHF Champions League . Then Burdet went abroad, namely in the German handball league for VfL Gummersbach . Burdet did not win any other titles there and was overshadowed by Kyung-Shin Yoon for most of the time . So he returned to Montpellier in 2006, where he won the French League Cup in 2007 and the championship in 2008 and 2009. Burdet ended his career in 2009.

Cédric Burdet made 227 international appearances for the French men's national handball team . With France, he won at the world championships in 1997 and 2003 each World Cup bronze . In the 2006 European Men's Handball Championship due to injury missed Burdet. He took part in the men's handball world championship in Germany in 2007 , but failed with France in the semi-finals against the German team and finished in 4th place. He won the gold medal at the 2008 Olympic Games .
