When he was promoted to Ligue 2 , he immediately became a regular and was able to recommend himself for a return to Racing Strasbourg. This return followed after 13th place in 2003. After 13th and 11th places, 2006 was relegated from Ligue 1 , with the French league cup being won in 2004/05, which brought racing into the UEFA Cup . After the second relegation, he turned his back on Strasbourg and went to OGC Nice . His further path began with a 16th place in Nice , followed by an eighth and ninth place in 2007/08 and 2008/09.
In 2009 the defender signed with the Greek first division club Panathinaikos Athens . After returning to France in 2012, he first played for FC Sochaux in Ligue 1. At the end of the 2013/14 season he was relegated to Ligue 2 with the team, but Kanté signed a contract before the start of the new second division season AC Ajaccio . In 2015 Kanté moved to the amateur club ASPV Strasbourg.
Kanté took part in the Africa Cup of 2008 in Ghana for Mali.
