César Amaro

César Amaro (born October 25, 1948 in Montevideo , Uruguay , † July 31, 2012 in Montevideo) was a Uruguayan guitarist and teacher.

The Uruguayan, who worked as a solo guitarist as well as in a guitar duo and together with an orchestra, was a student of Abel Carlevaro , a cousin of his uncle Hector Carlevaro , from the age of eleven . Amaro, who specializes in interpreting the works of the Paraguayan composer Agustín Barrios , has also made an international appearance. For example, he performed in the Argentine cities of Buenos Aires ( Teatro Colón and Teatro San Martín ), Córdoba and Rosario as well as in various European countries, such as Romania, Italy, Bulgaria, France, Switzerland, Poland and Spain. In the course of this he took part in various festivals, such as the Festivale Internazionale delle Nazione in Rome , the Festival de Cinémas et Cultures de L´América Latine in Biarritz, France and the 29th International Guitar Festival in Tel Aviv . He also recorded numerous records. The labels that have released these include Tacuabé , AgArAbAi , Orfeo , Edimur and Gemecs . He also performed the TV show "La guitarra y sus intérpretes" at Televisió Nacional del Uruguay for eleven years . Amaro also worked as a lecturer. In this role he worked at the music academies in San José and Rocha . Since 1992 he has also been chairman of the Centro Guitarrístico del Uruguay . From 2005 to 2006 he was the artistic director of the "Festival Internacional Agustín Barrios" in San Juan Bautista , Paraguay .
