César Sánchez Domínguez (born September 2, 1971 in Cáceres ) is a former Spanish football player .
Career
At his youth club Real Valladolid , César Sánchez made the leap to the first team after two years with the B-Team. In his first game for the professional team, he had to get the ball out of the net six times in the home game against Barcelona (0: 6). He then played over 200 games for this club. In 2000 he moved to Real Madrid. There he came out only for a short time via the reservist existence and was ousted again by the young talent and later world class goalkeeper Iker Casillas after the Champions League final in 2002, in which he was injured . Sánchez played five of the nine games in the Champions League in 2002 , but had to be substituted in the final against Bayer 04 Leverkusen after an injury against Casillas. He won - mostly as a substitute - six titles in five years. In order to be able to play at the top level again, César Sánchez switched to Real Saragossa . In the 2006/07 season he was able to qualify for the UEFA Cup with Saragossa . After relegation from the Spanish Primera Division with Saragossa in the 2007/08 season, in which he was in the meantime ordered into the B team, he moved to the English first division club Tottenham Hotspur. In January 2009 one dissolved his contract with Tottenham by mutual agreement. In the same month he signed a contract with the Spanish first division club Valencia CF , where he was to temporarily represent the injured Renan Brito Soares . In 2012 he was relegated with Villarreal from the Primera Division.
César Sánchez once played for the Spanish national team .
On October 15, 2013 it was announced that Sánchez will work as a goalkeeping coach in the youth division of Valencia CF.
