Cölln is located in the southeastern part of the local community. The Alsenz runs in a north-south direction to the west of the settlement area .
history
From 1798 to 1814, when the Palatinate was part of the French Republic (until 1804) and then part of the Napoleonic Empire , Cölln was incorporated into the canton of Obermoschel . In 1815 the place had 101 inhabitants. Then the place changed to the Kingdom of Bavaria . From 1818 to 1862 he was a member of the Kirchheim Land Commissioner ; from this the district office of Kirchheim emerged. On December 1, 1900, the community moved to the newly created district office Rockenhausen . In 1928 Cölln had 185 residents who lived in 38 residential buildings. From 1938 the place was part of the district of Rockenhausen . After the Second World War , Cölln became part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate within the French occupation zone . In the course of the first administrative reform in Rhineland-Palatinate, Cölln was merged with the neighboring community of Mannweiler on June 7, 1969 to form the new local community of Mannweiler-Cölln . At the same time the place changed to the newly created Donnersbergkreis.
Infrastructure
Together with the neighboring town of Bayerfeld , Cölln once owned the common Bayerfeld-Cölln railway station on the Alsenz Valley Railway . After the Second World War this was given up due to a lack of profitability. With the Protestant church and a courtyard there are two cultural monuments on site.
