CD75 (synonymous β-galactoside-α-2,6-sialyltransferase 1 ) is a surface protein and an enzyme from the group of sialyltransferases .
properties
CD75 transfers sialic acids from cytidine monophosphate sialic acid to galactose- containing biomolecules . CD75 is inhibited by cytidine triphosphate . CD75 binds to CD22 . CD75 is located in the Golgi apparatus and on the cell membrane . CD75 is converted from a membrane-bound to a soluble form by proteolysis . CD75 is glycosylated and phosphorylated . There are two isoforms of CD75. It is formed in the germination centers of lymph nodes and many follicular lymphomas .
