Ca 'Sanudo Turloni

Ca 'Sanudo Turloni is a palace in Venice in the Veneto region of Italy . It is located in the Sestiere San Polo on Calle Pezzana with a view of the Rio de Sant'Antonio near Campo San Polo and the Palazzo Corner Mocenigo .

history

The palace was probably built in the 13th century in the Venetian- Byzantine style for the old noble family Sanudo . It remained in their hands until 1852 when the last descendant, Francesco Livio Sanudo, died. He bought the property to Angelo Revedin . In 2015 the palace was divided into individual apartments.

The Palazzo Soranzo-van Axel in the Cannaregio sestiere also belonged to Sanudos in the 17th century .

The main facade to the Rio Sant'Antonio is in Gothic style, which was revised in the Renaissance . Many changes have been made to the palace over the centuries, including: a. it was increased to five floors. There was a fountain in the courtyard. Some frescoes by Gaspare Diziani have been preserved in the interior . Part of the palace once adjoined Campo San Polo . Today, however, it is divided into individual apartments.
