Cabaza is a German drum ensemble.

history

Cabaza was founded in 1983 by Hermann Schwander with his then students Hans-Günter Brodmann , Tilo Heider and Sandor Toth on the occasion of the world premiere of “Galerie” for percussion quartet by the composer Werner Heider . In addition to concerts in Germany and appearances at percussion and new music festivals, including in Munich, Hanover, Berlin, Bonn and at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival , Cabaza has been invited to concert tours to Austria, Hungary and Japan.

Other members of the group were Roland Schmidt and Axel Dinkelmeyer.

Current line-up: Hans-Günter Brodmann , Hermann Schwander , Radek Szarek and Wernerreiber.

Cabaza played numerous world premieres and often worked with composers such as Werner Heider , Peter Kiesewetter , Nicolaus A. Huber , Klaus Hashagen , Ney Rosauro , and Erkki-Sven Tüür . In autumn 1994 Cabaza drew attention to himself with the new composition and the live performance of the music for the silent film "The Master of Nuremberg" (Director: Ludwig Berger , D 1927)
