Cabernet Cantor

Cabernet Cantor is a fungus- resistant red wine variety bred in 1989 . Cabernet Cantor was the State Viticulture Institute Freiburg (also called Chancellor) from the varieties Seibel 7053, Merzling, Zarya Severa and Muscat Ottonel crossed . He is officially marked with the breeding line FR 523-89 r.

Properties of the vine

Budding and take place a few days before the Pinot Noir . The ripening time is about 1 week before the Pinot Noir. The resistance to powdery mildew and downy mildew is considered to be very good. The variety has little tendency to trickle and stalk paralysis and the proportion of raw rot is low.

Properties of the wine

The wines are spicy, mild and rich in color. They have a typical Cabernet or Merlot character.
