Café du Dôme
The du Dôme Café is a restaurant in the Parisian district of Montparnasse on the Boulevard du Montparnasse 109, on the corner of Rue Delambre.
history
Opened in 1898, the Café du Dôme became a popular meeting place for the Parisian bohemians of the turn of the 1900s. Regulars included painters, sculptors, writers, poets, art lovers and art dealers who lived in the Montparnasse district west of the Seine . The place was frequented by the Americans, English and Russians living in Paris.
The unprofitable guests could afford a sausage and a plate of French fries, the wealthy guests could enjoy oysters.
Today the restaurant with its lavish Art Nouveau decor has become a sight for tourists. Exquisite fish dishes are served.
