Cahama (also Kahama and Caama ) is a small town and a district in Angola , in southwestern Africa .
The South African hartebeest ( Alcelaphus caama ) is named after this region.

Cahama is a district ( Município ) in the province of Cunene . It covers an area of 9725 km² and has about 72,000 inhabitants (2010 estimate). From now on, the 2014 census will provide reliable population data.
