Namacunde (also Namakunde ) is a small town and a district in Angola . It borders the Republic of Namibia in the south .

Namacunde is the seat of a district of the same name ( Município ) in the province of Cunene . It covers an area of 10,701 km² and has around 166,000 inhabitants (2019 estimate). The 2014 census showed 142,047 inhabitants.
Two communities (Comunas) form the Namacunde district:
- Melunga-Chiede (also Shiede)
- Namacunde
The border town of Santa Clara belongs to the municipality of Namacunde.
