Santa Clara is a small town in southern Angola . It is located 45 km south of the provincial capital Ondjiva . The most important border crossing between Angola and Namibia is located in the village . On the Namibian side, the name of the local settlement Oshikango is often used as a name for the border crossing. The Namibian dollar is also a valid currency in this city .

Since the Angolan authorities made it easier for foreign visitors to issue visas from March 30, 2018, the number of border crossings in Santa Clara has increased from 44,473 to 265,156 in the first 10 months of the year. Most of the foreigners came from Namibia (30%), South Africa (27%), Zimbabwe (13%) and Mozambique (10%), followed by Brazil, Belgium, Germany, Portugal, Cabo Verde, Mauritius, São Tomé e Príncipe, Botswana, South Korea, United States, Argentina, Uruguay, Canada, Chile and Cuba.

In addition to the road that crosses the border there, the construction of a railway connection is planned for the future, which will also cross the border here and meet the Benguela Railway in the Huíla province . The long-distance buses from Grupo SGO drive to the place. Since October 2018, the Angolan company Macon has also operated a long-distance bus connection to Luanda and Windhoek .
